Technical Requirements

Use these requirements for pre-sales qualification and event-day reliability checks.

Synapse Booth (Windows)

Existing published planning guidance below. Confirm your camera/printer combination with the public installer before buying hardware.

Minimum

  • Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
  • 8 GB RAM
  • Quad-core CPU
  • Stable internet connection

Recommended

  • Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • 16 GB RAM or higher
  • Modern 6-core+ CPU
  • SSD with at least 20 GB free space
  • No high-end GPU required for cloud workflows

Synapse Kiosk (iPad)

  • iPadOS 17.6 or later (App Store, checked 26 September 2026)
  • Latest Synapse Kiosk app from App Store
  • Windows Kiosk Server required on the same local network
  • Internet for licensing, cloud gallery and configured email/SMS services

Network & Sync Requirements

  • Use a dedicated router for event operations when possible.
  • Prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi for iPad and booth communication.
  • Avoid guest network isolation between devices.
  • Allow outbound HTTPS traffic for licensing and cloud services.

Event-Day Checklist

  • Run complete end-to-end test before guests arrive.
  • Verify capture, generation, sharing, and print flow.
  • Keep power backup and spare cables on site.
  • Keep your account email and installation records accessible.

Synapse Booth (iPad)

  • iPadOS 26.1 or later (US App Store, checked 26 September 2026).
  • Install Synapse Booth, the capture app, from the App Store.
  • Camera access for photos; internet for activation, cloud AI and dashboard sync.
  • Compatible printing route tested with the Booth app's iOS print controls.
iPad Booth Setup

Kiosk Server (Windows)

  • Windows host kept running with an accessible event photo folder.
  • Confirm the supported Windows version with support before installing; installer details are on the Downloads page.
  • iPad and server on the same local network; allow server port 5000 on the trusted private network.
  • Compatible Windows printer and driver for server printing.
  • Configured SMTP for email and Twilio for SMS; provider charges apply.
  • Kiosk license plus applicable Standard or Cloud pass.
